Vi appartengono piante che vivono nelle acque marine costiere della mwfgzona temperata e che compiono l'intero ciclo vitale sott'acqua. Presentano mwfwfoglie nastriformi e mwgarizomi con mwgqradici atte ad ancorare la pianta al substrato e ad assorbire i nutrienti.
